The Governments
of Uganda and Kenya have jointly received funding
from FAO for emergency control of PPR in the Karamoja/Turkana
ecosystem under the Technical Cooperation Programme
. The objective of the project is to support surveillance,
diagnosis and vaccination against PPR, a new and dangerous
disease of small ruminants in Uganda and Kenya.
As part of the work plan, FAO and the Ministry of
Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF)
arranged an inception workshop for stakeholders to
be held on 24th – 26th April 2008 at Wash &
Willis Hotel Mbale.
